Job Description

These posts will include links and quotes from scholarly journal articles, popular press articles centered on finance, financial news, capital markets, and investor activity involving financial tech startups. Content focused on innovation and business is acceptable as well. This job involves four main aspects …

– Read through various websites (e.g., Morningstar.com, WSJ.com, and FT.com) to formulate well-constructed social media posts, which I will review and approve for the next week’s scheduled postings.

– Formulate a list of industry leaders from various areas of finance … along with science and technology (artificial intelligence and machine learning, big data, biomimicry, biotechnology, bitcoin/blockchain, cloud computing, "Internet of Things", swarm intelligence, telemedicine, and space flight). On this list, identify their blogs for future references (and to add to the first section of extracting interesting content to share for future posts). Then, identify their hashtags, handles, and corresponding social media platforms of their accounts. This list should then serve to enable tagging and online engagement with thought-leaders whenever an article or fact extracted from online searching seems relevant for engagement. Furthermore, following their social media accounts will enable sharing, liking, commenting, and re-posting.

– Curate content on my "active" accounts (e.g., Twitter) and "static" platforms (e.g., YouTube) to create an updated, educational, and intellectually-driven brand focused on finance and capital markets.

– Manage the social media accounts’ engagement. If anyone tags, messages, likes, favorites, comments, shares, or re-posts my content, acknowledge the user through direct messages to build a constituency of followers and readers. This is just one example of how to professionally nurture a community of followers. All engagement and management should be in my "brand voice". Thus, you will serve in some capacity as a ghostwriter, as much as you are a content curator, brand manager, community builder, and Internet researcher on various topics.

Weekly Expectations:

– Formulate seven original posts for all platforms provided to you. The platforms include Twitter, Google+, Instagram, Medium, and several others. Replications will be posted on my blog sites. Each post will be scheduled for the week ahead. Thus, a new post will be published on different platforms each day. Each post should aim to include the following: quote, fact, data-point, or salient point of an academic journal article, popular press article reporting in finance/tech/investing/business, or "high-level" blog (likely, from a prominent investor, financial trader, or business leader). The posts should aim to include a relevant hashtag (be mindful of existing trending), the link to the article, and well-structured/clear writing.

– After building the "industry leader list" (as described in the section above), execute three re-posts or shares of posts from industry leaders with their handle tagged to acknowledge the share for their followers and my followers. This would ideally be executed on M/W/F. Be mindful of the topics re-posted/shared to align with my brand.

– Acknowledge any/all tags, likes, shares, comments, and favorites with professionally-worded acknowledgments through direct messages, which may help build followership.

– Curate content/add content on "static" social media accounts (though, occasional engagement may be necessary). Examples of static social media accounts include Pinterest and YouTube, where content mostly sits idle and does not get shared or followed.

I do not care about increasing followers; I care about the quality of content associated with me. Thus, almost all of your focus should be on curating content to be "high-level", data-driven, informational posts associated with finance and capital markets.
